1st house in Aquarius: the meaning
One never quite knows where to place Aquarius rising.
You dress your own way, think outside the frame, take an interest in science as in astrology, in social networks as in utopias. You are pleasant to everyone, but keep a certain distance: you prefer friendship to fusion, the group to the one-on-one. Faced with the unexpected, you react with an unexpected idea, sometimes brilliant, sometimes baffling. You hate being told what to think and defend other people’s freedom as much as your own. You are often found where a collective forms: an association, a cooperative, a citizens’ movement.
Aquarius has two rulers: Saturn in tradition, Uranus since modern times. Saturn would bring constancy, structure, a sense of collective rules; Uranus the unexpected, invention, ruptures. Saturn in the 11th house would tie identity to friendships and networks; Uranus in the 10th would make a career unconventional; Uranus in the 1st house would further accentuate the originality of the bearing. Uranus spends about seven years in each sign: its natal house counts for more than its sign. The aspect between the two rulers would say whether order and innovation coexist.
The price of this freedom would be a certain apparent coldness. You may intellectualize your emotions, oppose out of a love of contradiction, or change course abruptly without warning. You may also feel set apart, misunderstood. The 7th house in Leo, opposite, brings warm, generous relationships, which invite you to commit with the heart and to accept the central place you are offered.
