Raven at a glance
For you, it invites you to reread your recent story, keep what helped you grow, and leave the rest behind.
What have the last few months taught you that you would not want to forget?
A black raven impresses by its color, not by a hidden meaning: do not lend it an intention it does not have.

- A raven cawing near your home is often read as a call for attention.
What this sign evokes
The raven is an intelligent, talkative bird, able to recognize faces and remember a place. Its black plumage and harsh call long made it a feared silhouette, but the oldest stories also see in it a guide, an observer, a messenger who sees far.
When it crosses your path, it may invite you to sort through your memories: what deserves to be kept, what can be let go. It brings neither promise nor warning. It mostly raises the question of what you see from the height of your own experience.
What cultures say about it
After the Flood, Noah first releases a raven (Genesis 8:7). Later, ravens feed the prophet Elijah in the desert (1 Kings 17:6). The same bird is thus by turns a scout and a provider.

A raven is noticed because it is big, black, and loud; afterward, every dark silhouette at the edge of a field seems to be it.
Depending on the situation
- Crow or raven
- In everyday speech, one is often mistaken for the other. The readings of memory and messenger apply to both.
- It caws in front of the house
- A raven cawing near your home is often read as a call for attention. For the bird, it is a contact or alarm call between fellow birds, unrelated to the people living there.

How is it calculated?
Raven: your questions
What does a raven in front of the house mean?
Symbolic readings see a visitor who pushes you to reread your experience, a bird of memory more than of warning. For the bird, it is a territory or a food source. Write down what you were thinking about on seeing it: that thought is what counts.
Is the raven a bird of misfortune?
Its black color earned it that reputation in Europe, but the old stories also show it as Odin’s messenger or as the provider of the prophet Elijah. Versana reports these readings without making them a rule: a bird brings neither luck nor misfortune.
Why are ravens kept at the Tower of London?
A legend holds that the kingdom would fall if the ravens left the Tower. To prevent that, at least six are always kept there. Whether the legend is ancient or more recent, it remains a living custom of England.
