Choosing a geobiologist

What a geobiologist can do, and what they must not promise

Honestly, a geobiologist can offer you a visit and an outside view of your home: the layout of the rooms, the position of the bed or the desk, what you feel in this or that corner. Some also measure electric fields or radon with real instruments; that part can be verified, and the result must be handed to you in writing.

They must not promise an effect on your body, your sleep, or your mood, nor a guaranteed “clearing” of the house. No device has ever picked up the grids and energies they say they detect with a pendulum or rods: if they talk about them, it is a personal reading of the place, not a finding.

Questions to ask beforehand

  1. What device do you measure with, and what exactly does it measure?
  2. What do you do if you find nothing?
  3. What is the total price, travel included, and can I have a written quote?
  4. What is your training, and do you have professional insurance?
  5. Will you give me a written report of what was seen and measured?
  6. Do you sell objects or devices following your visit?

Prices

For a house or an apartment, rates published online range from about €200 to €800 (found on October 15, 2026): from €300 to €800 “depending on the surface area and the instruments used” according to the geobioscan guide, and, in the price lists of three practitioners, from €350 to €600 depending on surface area, from €200 to €600 calculated per square meter, or €500 up to 170 m² (about 1,830 square feet). Travel is often billed on top beyond a certain distance.

For a farm or a construction site, a written question from the French deputy Éric Bothorel (October 29, 2024) reported, according to a press investigation, €500 to €3,000 per intervention. A high price says nothing about seriousness: compare what is included, and be wary of any purchase offered after the visit.

If something goes wrong

If the geobiologist came to your home without you asking, in France you have 14 days to cancel the contract, counted from the day after signing, and they cannot cash any payment before 7 days. Keep the quote, the contract, and the written exchanges.

For a misleading or abusive commercial practice, contact your local consumer protection authority; in France, SignalConso, the DGCCRF’s public service, collects your report free of charge and passes it to the company. Versana keeps no directory and recommends no provider.

Choosing a geobiologist: your questions

How much does a geobiologist cost?

For a home, rates found online on October 15, 2026 range from about €200 to €800, depending on surface area and what is included, often with travel fees on top. Ask for a written quote and the total price before the visit, and refuse any purchase of an object or device presented as essential afterward.

Is a geobiologist reliable?

It depends on the person and on what they promise. The grids described by geobiology have never been measured, and in September 2025 France’s Ministry of Agriculture announced an inspection mission on training and advice in pseudosciences. Judge by the evidence: what they measure, with what, what they guarantee, what they sell.

How do you find a geobiologist near me?

Versana keeps no directory and recommends no one. If you contact one, ask them the six questions on this page before committing, request a written quote, and check that they tick none of the warning signs. For radon, waves, or electricity, the “What can be measured” page gives the public contact.

What should you do in case of a scam?

After door-to-door sales in France, you have 14 days to cancel, and no payment can be cashed before 7 days. Gather the quote, the contract, and the messages, then report the practice on SignalConso, the DGCCRF’s free public service. If you have already paid, keep all proof of payment.
